Thanks to everyone who came out last Saturday to train for walktheirwalk. Walking together with all of you really encourages me to keep going — I’m really glad to be able to do the walk together!! Please keep up the great work — both in prayer and in fundraising. We had another donation from our ESC (English Speaking Congregation) this past week, bringing our grand total so far to $721.00! We’re almost there… Let me know if you have any new donations.

If you check the post below, I have archived the “Taking It Home” from last week. These questions and thoughts for the week are not limited to that particular week, so feel free to check them out anytime. The main goal is to help your love for God and others to increase. If you’re searching for past archives, just go to the bottom of the page and click on “spiritual growth” under “Categories” and you should be able to find them. Click on the Spiritual Growth page for this week’s “Taking It Home.”

Friendship With God
September 7, 2007
One of the most amazing ideas in the whole Bible is that we — ordinary, broken people — can be friends with God. Not a stranger or even a mere acquaintance, but God’s friends. The theme verse for our new worship series, “Friendship With God” refers specifically to Abraham, but we can all become the friends of God through Jesus.
This week, take some time to read John 15 [click here to read this chapter online]. Consider the following questions after you’ve taken time to read this amazing passage in which Jesus describes our friendship with God:
- How is being friends with God similar to having other friends? How is your relationship with God different from any other friendship?
- How does Jesus say we will express our friendship with God?
- What does Jesus say will be some of the results in our lives, if we live the way He wants us to live?
- What is the key to living a fruitful life for God?
May you know and experience powerful, life-changing, one-of-a-kind friendship with God everyday as you live for Him!
