Food For Thought
“God commands us to love one another… He knows that people who act in love toward all those around them experience love twice – when they give it away to anoher person and when they receive it back again.” — Bob Hostetler, Josh McDowell’s One Year Book of Youth Devotions

This Week At Home
This week, read 1 John 3:16-18. Think about the following questions:
- What is your response to this passage? Why?
- What does it mean to “lay down our lives for one another”? How does this apply to our family, our friends, our church, our school and our community?
- Why does God connect a lack of love for the needy (“a brother or sister in need”) with the absence of God’s love?
- How can you express God’s love to your family? to the needy?
Do you know anyone in need? Maybe someone is in the hospital or has been through a really difficult time. How could you be a blessing to that person? How do you think God would want you to show His love to them?
